A/Prof Mahesh Iddawela is a consultant Medical Oncologist at Alfred Health, Latrobe Regional Health and senior researcher at Monash University. His research interests focus on gynae oncology, uro-oncology, breast oncology and translational biomarker research. He completed his medical oncology training at the Cambridge University Hospitals and did a PhD on breast cancer genomics and translational clinical trials at Cambridge. He has published his work in many international peer reviewed journals such as Lancet Oncology and British Journal of Cancer and has also presented at many national and international meetings. He was a member of the expert groups involved in developing the statewide patient management guidelines for many cancers and medical director now the Gippsland Integrated Cancer Services.
